A group of volunteers took time out of the weekend to give back to the local community.

Teams helped to complete a number of tasks around the Giving Children Hope facility, including sorting foot and packing backpacks for the We’ve Got Your Back program, sorting medical supplies and IV bags, assembling furniture and small appliances and organizing the Mission Store.

Thank you for all of the hard work!

Players and Coaches from the Buena Park High School football team spent Friday afternoon last week volunteering their time at Giving Children Hope. More than 60 members of the team were willing and able to help in any area.

The entire team separated into three teams to tackle specific projects: 1) Packing backpacks full of nutritious food for the 1,000 homeless children in Orange County who are served by GCHope on a weekly basis, 2) Organizing donated medical supplies by category and function, readying them for shipment to one of GCHope’s international partners on the ground and 3) Shelving donated supplies and medicines through GCHope’s Giving For Living Program which supplies local nonprofits with materials they need to do their work in local communities.

Organized by Head Coach Anthony White, these young men took time out of their studies and practice to give back to the community, both locally and internationally. From the moment they arrived, the student-athletes were very focused and ready to help as much and as quickly as possible. The GCHope staff was very impressed with the team’s level of professionalism and respect. Every response from the students was immediately followed by a “ma’am” or “sir.” Even when the time came for the team to depart, several students wanted to continue helping in order to finish the tasks set before them.

Thank you so much, Buena Park High School Football, for your hard work and great attitude! Go Coyotes!
